Wait to hear from us

Within a short while after applying to the Marine Institute you should be receiving information from us regarding the status of your application, scholarships, etc. Please be patient; there are times when we receive many applications from all our students. Although we do everything to avoid delays, sometimes they do occur.

5.
Apply for your study permit

Depending on your country of origin and the type and length of study (generally 6 months or more), you may require a Study Permit. If you will be studying in a program of six months or less, but think you may continue your studies, you should apply for a study permit before you come to Canada. If you do not have a valid study permit and wish to continue your studies, you will have to leave in order to apply for one.

Visit the Canadian Citizenship and Immigration website

Check your email account

We will be sending all communications to your new @mi.mun.ca or @mun.ca email account.

7.
Submit your on campus housing application

A separate application is required for on campus housing. On campus housing applications should be submitted as early as possible because our spaces fill quickly. We recommend you submit your on campus housing application when you submit your application to MI. Go to the next section of the checklist for complete information about applying for on campus housing. Find all your housing information in the next section.

Please let us know at internationalstu@mi.mun.ca when you apply for housing so we can track your application.
